Prowave produces high-quality and technically superior vibration workout tools. However, the user interface of the technical side of the product often caused potential customers such as gym owners to go with the competitors’ products. Therefore, matching the quality and standard of the hardware itself, the operability and user friendliness of the UI were to be revised and remodeled.
The first thing we did was to identify the requirements of a modern interface for vibrating workout devices in a gym environment and we did that by conducting on-site interviews. In various gyms, we observed both first-time users and those used to the workout devices while using the old interface. During the successive interviews with our test persons, we gained first-hand insights and requirements for the new interface, forming the basis for its development. A new information architecture, a more ergonomic arrangement of elements, and new functions allowing the device to be used even more intuitively. All improvements were implemented while simultaneously reducing the physical interaction with the technology of the device to a minimum. From a visual point of view, a new and clear design was developed, conveying the message and the brand itself.
A Bluetooth / Smartphone extension of the controller is under construction.
